travelogue by friend of the shop, activist and writer Yumiko Sakuma.
This book is an art book of Nuka art created in New York from May 2020 to August 2021 by Jaiko Suzuki, who has multiple titles such as singer, dancer, performer, writer, and visual artist. Jaiko is an artist who helped shape the tenor of life in the lower east side since the early nineties.
Nuka art is a visual art in which pickled rice bran is thinly sliced and beautifully arranged on a plate.
It is an unexpected idea that pickled rice bran can become a work of art, but each work is beautiful, like looking into a kaleidoscope. 43 works are featured. It also features the state of New York in the midst of the pandemic lockdown, which is the background of the production, the story behind the birth of nuka art.
