Description
When I designed the Celia Skirt in this Japanese milled engineer stripe cotton, I wanted to see how a utilitarian textile could transform a voluminous silhouette. This piece is my own personal interpretation of 1930s dress lines, classic Western wear, and the sweeping fullness of 1950s cotton madras skirts. By cutting this cross-era shape in a traditional workwear stripe, I've created something that feels entirely fem, grounded, practical, and functional.
One of the most important steps for me was ensuring this skirt fits exactly the way you expect it to, every single time you put it on. We have shrunk this premium 100% cotton fabric as much as possible prior to construction, giving you true ease of care and a completely consistent fit that won't distort after a wash. I engineered the fit to anchor with a snug, contoured waist before opening up into a relaxed pleated skirt, allowing the feather weight of the indigo denim to hold its refined profile beautifully as you move. It is extremely light weight and breathable, making it the ultimate piece for summer. It hits at the mid-to-low calf and features practical front side pockets. Built for effortless versatility, the Celia acts as a dependable anchor for your wardrobe. It pairs easily with a tucked-in organic cotton T-shirt for a relaxed, everyday uniform, or coordinates beautifully with tailored blouses. Designed in Brooklyn. Produced in New York City.
